The four Carol Services held in the Chapel at Marlborough College raised more than £8,000 which has been shared between four charities.
The generosity of parents, pupils, staff and their guests attending the services held in early December raised a total of £8,451 and as part of the College’s ongoing outreach work that sum has now been shared evenly between the following charities:
CLIC Sargent – A charity that fights tirelessly to stop cancer destroying young lives, working hard to help when each child and young person needs it most.
The Kempson Rosedale Trust – The Trust was established in the memory of EGH ‘G’ Kempson and Rupert Rosedale. Both were local residents and teachers, and they shared a passion for learning and exploring and for inspiring the young people with whom they came into contact.
The Friends of Erlestoke Prison – The Friends of Erlestoke Prison helps to support offenders with the challenges of resettlement and rehabilitation.
Thriving Through Venture – Provides volunteer programmes for young people in the UK that stimulate positive shifts in their mindset.
Reverend Tim Novis, Senior Chaplain, commented: “We are once again delighted to be supporting these charities and of course thank all those who made such generous donations. “The College has strong links with these charities and will continue to do so through our outreach work, in addition to talks from visiting speakers and providing rewarding experiences for pupils both in and beyond the College.”
