The 2023 Hope and Homes for Children Carol Concert and Service which took place in Marlborough College Chapel on Saturday December 16 has raised a whopping £7543 for the charity. All proceeds from the concert will be donated to Hope and Homes for Children. The charity Hope and Homes for Children finds alternative, high quality family based care for vulnerable children, who otherwise would be in orphanages. Their work is now recognized as best practice by UNICEF and the World Health Organisation.
The Vale of Pewsey Hope and Homes for Children Support Group would like to thank all those who attended and all who helped to make the event such a success. Alison Netherclift, from the support Group, told Marlborough.news, “There were Carols for all plus the 51 strong Ramsbury Bella Voce Choir with Musical Director Sian Haynes, which helped raise the Chapel roof. The Excalibur Children’s Choir with Musical Director and Oare Primary School Principal Gudrun Osborn, sang three songs and were exceptional. They brought smiles to everyone’s faces with their rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas. We were delighted that BBC Junior Chorister of the year 2023, 12 year old Belinda Gifford Guy also sang, together with Wells Cathedral Chorister, Aleksei Lichter.
Our thanks go to all who took part and who generously gave of their time – organist Chris De Souza, the Choirs, soloist Fiona MacArthur, BlueBelles A Capella group and the Revd Colin Heber-Percy for officiating and reminding us all of the true meaning of Christmas.
We would also like to thank our main sponsor, Haine and Smith, and other sponsors Cruice Goodall Architecture & Design, Proto Glass Studios, Rick Stein.
Our Carol Concert in 2024 will be on the 14th December.”
