A motorist who is accused of carrying out a serious assault on a Pewsey driver is to face trial by judge and jury.
Graham Hill pleaded not guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to an alleged incident on Tuesday August 4, last year.
The 55-year-old also denied causing serious injury through dangerous driving and actual bodily harm, in relation to the same matter.
Hill, of Southbrook Road, Melksham, is said to have been behind the wheel of a Mitsubishi Mirage during the alleged incident on the A350 Western Way in the town.
Recorder Adam Vaitilingam QC, sitting at Swindon Crown Court, adjourned the case to Monday August 1 and released Hill on bail until then.
It is said he and the driver of a Nissan Qashqai were involved in a disagreement where the road narrows from two lanes to one near the Farmer’s roundabout.
Following the incident the other man, a 59-year-old from Pewsey, was taken to hospital with ‘life changing’ head injuries.
