Eggs galore, bunny ears, carrots, yellow chicks and a variety of spring flowers adorned the very colourful Easter bonnets worn by every Great Bedwyn School pupil as they paraded around the village.
They put smiles on residents’ faces as they delivered eggs and Easter cards to them. A special stop on the route was St Mary’s Church where Reverend Michael McHugh gave an Easter blessing.
The children also took Easter gifts to the residents of Foxbury Place. Year 1 children entertained the residents by performing some songs from their Easter play.
Quite a crowd lined the streets to watch the parade go past. Some of the residents commented, “It was most kind of you to organise the delightful visit. The Foxbury Place folk were so thrilled to see the amazing Easter bonnets the children had made.”
Fiona De Pass, Great Bedwyn School’s Reception teacher, said, “We wanted to do something as a school to celebrate Easter. Our bonnet parade, with the theme of ‘Hope’, was an event that brought the school and community together in a beautiful colourful celebration.”
