It is being staged in memory of 23 year old Jamie Lawrenson who was found in a critical condition at his Newbury home in December. The Air Ambulance crew who came to his aid kept him alive for a few hours, just long enough for his family members to say their goodbyes.
Caroline Lovelock, Jamie’s mother-in-law said “We will never be able to repay the favour to the men and women who tried their best to save his life – we will be forever in their debt, but we will be forever grateful”
“We were able to say goodbye to him, and we watched him take his last breath, even though they could not save him, they still worked wonders”.
Saturday’s event is being staged as a big ‘thank you’ to the Air Ambulance, it is ticket only at £10 per head with all proceeds going to Air Ambulance.
Jamie was well known at the Barleycorn, it was one of his favourite venues, he played quite a few gigs there and loved the friendly atmosphere of the pub.
This event includes live music/bands, comedians, karaoke, finger buffet and a raffle, which offers plenty of prizes ranging from family photo shoots, to a £175 stacked diamond ring donated by Fraser Hart and a car for the weekend donated by Audi in Newbury.
One of the main music acts will be Avebury based George Wilding, a young and talented singer-songwriter who is already attracting a wide audience.
