Kennet and Avon Medical Partnership (KAMP) encourage all those eligible to book their flu vaccination without delay. They released the following statement this morning:
“All KAMP flu invitations have now gone out. If you are 65 and over or in an at risk category and you haven’t booked your appointment yet, please call the surgery to book in.
Clinics are Saturday 1st October at the Bouverie Hall, Pewsey or Sunday 9th October at the Marlborough Leisure Centre.
(If you are over 50 without a long term medical condition, you will be eligible from mid-October)
If you are housebound, we will be contacting you shortly.
It is very important that people in one of the at risk groups get their flu vaccine as flu is more likely to put them in hospital or lead to serious and even life-threatening complications. Plus, getting vaccinated can reduce the risk of spreading infection to loved ones and other people.
Those currently eligible for a free NHS flu vaccine in 2022/23 are:
- Aged 65 years and over
- Six months to 64 years in clinical risk groups
- Pregnant women
- Long-stay care-home residents
- Carers
- Close contacts of immunocompromised patients.
Please call the Kennet and Avon Medical Partnership on 01672 569990 if you think you are due a free NHS flu vaccine.”
