Since the January flooding the Town Council has recruited a team of flood wardens for Marlborough, they will be monitoring their areas and reporting any concerns so that any issues can be logged and reported so that the authorities can deal with any problems as quickly as possible.
Marlborough, particularly in the area surrounding the Kennet such as London Road and George Lane has suffered from blocked gullies, where the excessive rainfall can’t clear away quickly as it should. We understand that some residents in this area even sourced private contractors to deal with this yesterday. But all such blockages should be reported to Wiltshire Council so that they become aware quickly and address the blockage, either by themselves, or by the relevant party with responsibility (Thames Water) or even by necessary other means (we hope).
