Great Bedwyn “In Reception, this week it has been ‘ All about us.’ We have been talking about some of our favourite things, exploring our classroom, seeing what we like to play with, and making new friends. This week, we also met our Year 6 Buddies which has been the highlight so far; we have loved playing with them at break and lunch times. We are so excited for the year ahead.” Miss Webb, Reception class teacher
At Preshute Primary School, 21 children have joined the Reception Class. “The children have been busy getting to know each other and have been learning the rules and routines of school life. There has been lots of imaginative play. I’ve discovered they really like animals and water. The new drive-in car-wash where they can pretend to wash their bikes is very popular as is the water tray where we have been making lots of potions!” Charlotte Coulson, Reception class teacher
47 children joined Marlborough St Mary’s reception classes this September. “The children are settling in and are getting to know the environment, each other, their teachers and staff. They are slowly making friendships. Every morning we have small informal talks about family and about themselves. We have already started phonics lessons so they are learning sounds.” Zuzanna Joseph, Wren class teacher.
“The children are enjoying our new ‘hyggely’ environment and have come into school with confidence and curiosity in bounds ready for the exciting journey ahead.” Rachael Palmer, EYFS Lead Teacher
St Francis, Pewsey “Wow! What superstars our Reception Class of 2023 have been; they have settled in so quickly we forget that it is only a matter of weeks that they have been at “big school”. In that time. we have done lots of exploring and experimenting, and getting to know each other better. We have lots of exciting things planned for this term, and can’t wait to see what adventures await us!” Mrs Ashman, Reception Class Teacher, Mrs Cordery, TA

St Michael’s Aldbourne “We have some delightful children who have joined our Acorn Reception class this year and we’ve been really impressed with how quickly they have settled in. We are really looking forward to a fun year ahead and watching them flourish.” Karen Mearns, Reception Class Teacher
