The new Dan’s, situated in ‘The Crown’ in The Parade will open at 5pm today, Friday October 25. Eponymous proprietor, Dan Bond told marlborough.news, “I’m excited, exhausted but raring to go. The London Road restaurant only closed ten days ago and here we are up and running.”
The same staff have moved with the restaurant and there will also be some new faces. Over thirty wines will be available by the glass, all carefully chosen by Dan. “It involved copious amounts of tasting!” he commented.
The restaurant has a cosy feel to it with a log burning stove and oak banquette seating. There is also a snug, a bar area for walk-ins and an upstairs function room seating sixteen to thirty-two people.
The menus on offer are similar to the London Road ones. Popular dishes such as the gin and tonic prawns and fillet steaks are still available. The wine bar will be open all day and there is also a bar menu.
At the pre-opening party on Thursday 24 October guests were impressed by the new restaurant’s ambiance.
Mel Hagerty and Charlie and Fred Monro said, “We are looking forward to having another restaurant at this end of town. Hopefully more space will mean it’s easier to book a table. It’s also great to be able to come to a wine bar.”
