Kennet and Avon Medical Practice(KAMP) have released two Covid vaccination updates today, January 7.
The first appeals to all those who have already had their first Covid vaccination and have been given an appointment for the second. The message is to please come for your second Covid vaccination.
“KAMP are aware that other Practices have experienced patients not turning up for their second Covid vaccination because of the recent media reports around rescheduling second vaccinations. If you have a Covid Vaccination appointment booked with us, please turn up as planned unless we have contacted you to postpone it. Please spread the word, thank you.”
The second message concerns a fraudulent Covid text.
“It has been brought to our attention that there is a fraudulent text message claiming to be from the NHS which states that recipients are eligible to receive the Covid vaccine. Included in the message is a hyper-link to a fake application form which asks for personal information and a credit card number.
Please do not click on the link. We will contact you when it’s your time for the vaccine and we will NOT ask you to complete any forms.”
East Kennet PCN, including KAMP, Ramsbury, Burbage and Bedwyn Surgeries have administered the Covid vaccine the first Covid vaccination to approximately half of our over-80 year olds. Nationally, about a quarter of this group has been vaccinated, so KAMP are well ahead of the curve. Clinics are planned to vaccinate the remaining over-80 year olds. KAMP are poised to invite patients as soon as they have confirmation of the vaccine delivery date.
Patients are asked not to call the surgery. KAMP will call them to book their appointment.
KAMP are committed to keeping our patients and the community up to date on progress with the Covid vaccination programme. Please see the KAMP Facebook page and website.
