The school team at Chilton Foliat Primary School celebrated the return of all its pupils on Monday March 8 by hanging balloons, banners and bunting around the car park and entrances into school.
The warm welcome marked the day when all children could return to school after the latest lockdown. One delighted parent wrote: “How happy it made us to see all the lovely colourful bunting and balloons as we arrived at school this morning. It really put a smile on our faces. We hope the rest of term continues with the same zest and joy we saw this morning.”
The school has been open for all its critical workers and vulnerable children since the beginning of the new year. During this time the teaching team worked hard to make sure it was prepared for full re-opening, planning for the children’s mental and physical well-being as well as catching up with any lost learning.
Katie Turner, Headteacher, commented, “During this last lockdown each of our families has had their own set of circumstances to manage and supporting home learning has presented challenges. I am incredibly aware of the resilience and perseverance that has been needed to keep up momentum and applaud all our families for their continued support, ensuring that their children have learnt well at home. “We are looking forward to being together and staying together, for good!”
