Marlborough Rugby have teamed up with the Children’s Book project to get pre-loved children’s books to those that don’t have any to read.
One fifth – 20% – of all 5-8 year olds don’t have any books at home and the Children’s Book Project charity is there to enable children to have books to read. Many of us still have our children’s books filling up the shelves, probably years since being picked up to be read, now gathering dust and for us, an opportunity to create a bit more space. But for many children, an opportunity to read.
The Clubhouse at Marlborough Rugby will be open to accept children’s books at weekends from Sunday 27 November to Sunday 11 December. The books donated will then be passed on to the Children’s Book project charity to be given to children in need
Estate Agents Jones Robinson will also be helping out and accepting books if the Marlborough Rugby clubhouse isn’t open. They are in the High Street, on the ‘top’ side at no 139b, near to the Town Hall.
So, an opportunity to create just a bit of shelf space, but importantly to enable young children to get some much-needed books to read.
