Local band, The SODS, played to a packed Bouverie Hall (Pewsey) last Saturday night, December 10 and raised over £3,000 for two local charities. Wiltshire Air Ambulance and the Head & Neck Cancer Fund at Bristol Hospital will both benefit. Over 160 fans enjoyed The SODS Christmas Party. They were treated to two upbeat sets, with lots of dancing and three Christmas classic singalongs. The band were joined on stage by family and VIP ticket holders for the last song, which brought the house down.
The SODS (Sad Old Dads) are Nick, Jonathan, Hugo, Kevin, who live locally and met as parents at Dauntsey’s School. They have been performing since 2019. They have recently been joined by singing sensations Gabby and Hannah (aka the Sodettes).
Nick Burn said, “We lifted the spirits after England lost the football! There was a mobile bar, kindly lent by the Swan in Wilton, with draught beer on tap and a selection of drinks. Hot dogs and mince pies were donated by Boswells Café and were enjoyed at the end of the evening. Signage for the event was donated by Graphic Services, Swindon, and other donations came from Hunts Foodservice, Yate Supplies, Qube Epos and Travis Perkins Marlborough.”
The band have received so much positive feedback they hope this will become an annual event.
