Six-year-old St Mary’s pupil, Cassie, is having her very long hair cut short on Saturday February 11 at 3pm at a charity fund raising event in The Castle & Ball, Marlborough. Cassie’s 15” long hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust who provide free real hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions. Cassie and her family will also be holding a fundraising raffle for Macmillan at the event.
Collette Webb, Cassie’s mum, said, “We’ve lost quite a few relatives to cancer and I received support from Macmillan after my mum passed away. I’m so proud of Cassie for doing this and wanting to help other little kids.”
Marlborough hairdresser, Carrie Peck, will be cutting Cassie’s hair and Cassie’s school friends and family will be there to watch. Claire Barrett, Duty Manager at the Castle and Ball, encourages as many people as possible to go along on Feb 11th at 3pm and to buy raffle tickets. She would also be pleased to receive any raffle donations. Please contact Claire on 01672 515201 or email 6422@greeneking.co.uk if you would like to contribute.
Cassie has already started collecting for the two charities and there is a charity pot in St Mary’s School and in the Castle and Ball. Cassie said, “All my friends are supporting me and my teachers are very proud of me for doing this. I would like to raise £64.”
Hopefully she will raise a lot more for these two worthy causes.
