Hundreds of Marlborough households have been left without water today, following a burst main.
Thames Water says the burst water main is between Minal and Axford, and is in the process of repairing the leak.
Around 170 customers had contacted the Thames Water about their loss of water supply as of 1pm today, said a spokesman.
Thames Water’s head of water production, Dr Simon Earl said: “We’re sorry to customers who have no water or low pressure due to our burst pipe in Axford.
“While we’re fixing it we’re also re-routing water around our network and bringing in supplies from other parts of our region to keep disruption to a minimum.
“We’re doing everything we can to get supplies back to normal as quickly as possible.”
Thames Water said it could not confirm a time when the water supply would be fully resumed. Those living on high ground should expect the longest delays as the water pressure returns, said the spokesman.
Information from the company suggests the whole of Marlborough is effected, along with an area extending to Manton in the west, Ramsbury in the east, Ogbourne St George in the north, and Cadley in the south.
