It might look like the Christmas lights have been turned on early, but these pictures from a Marlborough News Online reader show another lorry driver trying to negotiate the turning between Kingsbury Street and Silverless Street. In the dark.
The incident happened just a week after Marlborough Town Council discussed turning Silverless Street into a one-way roadroad, with no access from Herd Street and Barn Street – although, clearly, such an Order would have not stopped this driver, who was travelling in the opposite direction.
There are also Unsuitable for HGV signs, which lorry drivers seem determined to ignore.
Our eye-witness told us the lorry driver had to reverse at one stage, narrowly avoiding a parked car. “What’s if next time it’s a pedestrian?” she asked.
Marlborough News Online continues to collect evidence of the menace of heavy transport to the residents and businesses of our narrower streets. Do snap any examples you see, and contact us by email or via Facebook.
