Extra benefits for older people in Wiltshire – and those with disabilities – are again being made available thanks to help worth £3.5 million provided by Wiltshire Council.
A specialist team visits those who apply, to consider whether they can contribute towards the costs of their care support, and also to ensure that they are receiving the welfare benefits they are already entitled to.
The extra benefits include Pension Credit, Income Support, Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance — both care and mobility– Housing and Council Tax benefits.
The financial assessments and benefits (FAB) team is part of the adult care service run by Wiltshire Council.
FAB team manager Nicky Patrick told Marlborough News Online: “This is fantastic news. The work of the team directly benefits individuals and the wider Wiltshire community, and is a great achievement for the team and council.”
