The White Horse Care Trust’s home at 5 Elcot Close, Marlborough has been rated as ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
After an unannounced inspection on August 13, the CQC have given the home ‘Good’ scores on all five of its questions: is the service safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led?
5 Elcot Close provides accommodation for up to five people with learning disability. The White Horse Trust runs many similar homes across Wiltshire and Swindon.
At the time of the inspection the registered manager had recently left the service and the Trust was recruiting a new manager. The home was being overseen by two area care managers and an interim manger with a deputy manager.
This very positive report can be summed up in two of its sentences: “Throughout the day we saw staff interacting with people with kindness and in a friendly manner…We saw people smiling and laughing with staff when they were approached.”
