Two local Church of England primary schools, in Oare and the Ogbournes, have converted to academy status over the Easter break – and have joined Excaliber Academies Trust. This takes them out of the control of Wiltshire Council.
Excalibur Academies Trust is a local multi academy trust which was established in September 2012 by St John’s, Marlborough and Easton Royal Academy. The Chief Executive of Excalibur Academies Trust is Patrick Hazlewood, who recently retired as Principal of St John’s Academy.
Since 2012 the Trust has grown and comprises two secondary schools, St John’s Marlborough and Fairfield High School in Bristol, and four primary schools: Burbage, Easton Royal, Oare and Ogbourne.
Patrick Hazlewood is pleased that these two primary schools, both local to St John’s, have joined the Trust: “Excalibur expects all of its academies to be Outstanding and I am happy to welcome Ogbourne and Oare, who are already classified by Ofsted as at least Good, to the Trust.”
“We are all eager to learn from each other, share good practice and develop a seamless educational journey from reception to adulthood for all our students.”
