Concern over the low voting in Marlborough’s East Ward at last year’s local council elections has resulted in Wiltshire Council agreeing to allow Marlborough town hall to be a second polling station in future.
Councillor Stewart Dobson, who also represents the East Ward on Wiltshire Council, has received a positive reply from its electoral registration officer informing him that voters will also be able to use the town hall at the Euro-elections in May.
“So we need to encourage everyone to go along and exercise their voting rights on that day,” he told Marlborough town council.
