Thirteen somewhat foot-sore members of St John’s Academy staff have completed the three peaks challenge thirty minutes inside the 24-hour time limit – raising a good sum for the All-Weather pitch appeal.
The whole team climbed the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales and were back home for Sunday breakfast.
Two of the peaks – Ben Nevis and Snowdon – were climbed in the dark.
“It was fantastic – a huge success and a great team effort”, said science teacher Ben Cobbold.
The venture has raised at least £1,150 and with Gift Aid and extra online donations they hope to reach £1,400.
