The Bear had twenty extra guests on Thursday night when people became stranded in Marlborough by the snow.
The Bear’s Liz Watson described it as ‘a bit of sleepover’ and told marlborough.news: “They were very, very grateful.”
Spare mattresses and blankets were brought into the bar and restaurant area – and the one female strandee had the pool room all to herself.
In the morning Liz Watson cooked breakfast for them – and they have now gone on their way.
Friday night’s gig has been cancelled because the musicians could not make it to Marlborough in time. But on Saturday (March 3) local musician Ashley Miles will be performing from 10pm.
