St Mary’s, Marlborough’s Parish Church, needs a new roof and work will be starting on it shortly. The first sign of activity is the scaffolding that is being erected around the church.
It is particularly noticeable on the South Side of the building where the scaffolding is right up beside the footpath and indeed forms a bridge over it at two points.
The Rector of St Mary’s, Canon Andrew Studdert-Kennedy, says: “The work is likely to take a while, so please bear with us whilst the rather unsightly scaffolding becomes part of your daily walk to and from Town.”
