The Marlborough Area Poverty Action Group has arranged four food collections days in the pre-Christmas period.
The collections will be on behalf of the Devizes Food Bank which has been distributing food parcels in Marlborough as well as the Devizes area.
The collection points will be at Tesco on Thursday, November 27, on Friday, November 28 and on Saturday, November 29 – from 9.00am to 3.00pm.
And at Waitrose on Thursday, December 6 – also between 9.00am and 3.00pm.
The Devizes Food Bank is part of the Salisbury-based Trussell Trust’s network of 400 food banks. The Trust’s food banks have helped 38 per cent more people in the first half of the 2014-2015 financial year, than in the same period last year.
The Trust has just reported that 492,641 people were given three days’ food and support between April and September – and that figure included 176,565 children.
