A post mortem has revealed that Derek Wolfe, Marlborough’s town clerk who died in the Great Western Hospital, Swindon, last week, aged 58, suffered a ruptured aortic aneurysm.
“It was neither the heart nor a blood clot which were the two most likely causes,” his stepdaughter Katrina Baker told Marlborough News Online. “The official cause is ‘Intra thoracic haemorrhage due to a perforated thoracic dissecting aortic aneurysm’. This basically means a ruptured aortic aneurysm.”
Mr Wolfe’s funeral will take place on October 12 in his home town of Axminster, Devon, to which all his associates in Marlborough are welcome to attend. A service of thanksgiving is being held at 12 noon at the Methodist Church, Lyme Road, Axminster, Devon, EX13 5AZ, to be followed by cremation at Whimple, near Exeter.
No flowers are requested. Donations can be sent to Barnardo’s c/o J F Clarke & Son, Maryknoll, Lyme Street, Axminster EX13 5AU.
