One 18-year-old teenager has been arrested by Marlborough police but they are still seeking other individuals believed to be involved in a criminal damage spree in the town on Friday and Saturday.
So far 15 incidents of damage to cars as well as damage to garden ornaments in the Newby Acre, Baywater and Tin Pit area of Marlborough.
“Numerous cars had their wing mirrors broken , vehicles written on garden furniture damaged,” PC Stan Boardman told Marlborough News Online . “The total value could amount to several thousand pounds and the neighbourhood policing team would like to hear from anyone who has information identifying those responsible .
Earlier, investigating officer PC David Tippetts said: “We believe the incidents on Friday may have happened in the early hours of Saturday morning and the incidents on Saturday could have happened early on Sunday.
“We are also investigating two other incidents which we are treating as linked because they happened around the same time.”
The arrested 18-year-old has been released on bail and further arrests are expected.
PC Tippetts added: “We carried out extensive door to door inquires at all of the houses in this area and didn’t get much more information but this doesn’t mean that other people in Marlborough don’t have information about the incidents.”
