Wiltshire Council has introduced new timetables for bus services 19, 20, 22 and X2 from 22 April 2013 to Bedwyn following a consultation process.
“We have tried to ensure that the new timetables address as many of the points raised by the consultation as possible,” says a spokesman. “We regret, however, that there are one or two journeys which carry very few passengers that we will no longer be able to provide.”
A summary of the most important changes is as follows:
• Buses are now running approximately every 90 minutes between Marlborough and Bedwyn. This means that fewer buses will be able to connect with trains at Bedwyn Station and some morning journeys will provide connections at Hungerford instead.
• Peak hour buses to/from Great Bedwyn are being timed to provide better connections at Marlborough with buses to/from Swindon and some journeys will be combined with bus service 19 from Pewsey and Easton Royal.
• Fewer buses are running to/from Hungerford but the remaining journeys will still cater for Hungerford residents who wish to shop or study in Marlborough. Additional journeys will also be provided between Froxfield and Hungerford by the Ramsbury Community Bus on Wednesdays and Fridays.
