With just two months to go the end of the financial year, Marlborough Town Council is on track and has made savings during the year so far of £18,000, Finance Committee chairman Councillor Andrew Ross revealed on Monday.
This is partly due to a reduction in the cost of the council’s insurance policy renegotiated by Town Clerk Shelley Parker, he told councillors, the council having so far spent 83.3 per cent of its funding.
And he added: “Our expenses are under control. We can be adequately satisfied we have managed our finances for the first 10 months. This is a guide to give you some comfort.”
