Last Saturday (April 13) the fourth annual Marlborough Spring Fair held at the College defied both the atrocious weather and the continuing recession to raise £10,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Organiser Anne Deuchar calls this an ‘amazing sum’: “Overall, we have had wonderful feedback from visitors who thought it was the best Spring Fair to date.”
“Our next event, the Feast of Food, will be on October 26 and we can only hope for perfect weather for that event.”
These complex events, drawing exhibitors from many parts of the south west of England, are, Ms Deuchar emphasises, “very much team efforts and without all the excellent support, it would be very difficult indeed to run them.”
Only one parish in the Marlborough Area will be voting for its councillors on 2 May
