For the second year running the Marlborough Medical Practice (MMP) has won a Gold Plus award for its work supporting carers. The award was presented at the GP Accreditation Award Evening in Devizes.
The Marlborough Medical Practice holds a carers’ register and any patient who is a carer can join this by collecting a pack from the front desk and completing a form. They then notify Carers Support Wiltshire – the organisation that provides relevant information, advice and a regular newsletter, and offers carers local support services.
The Practice holds Carers Support Clinics during the year and all Carers will be invited by letter to book an appointment if they wish to. This includes a 20 minute appointment with our Heath Care Assistant and a 20 minute appointment with Carers Support Wiltshire.
Carers are offered flexible appointments with all the Practice’s clinical staff to suit their needs: “We understand that looking after your own health can be challenging when caring for someone else, and that your time is limited.”
Changes at MMP
Dr Abi Griffiths’ maternity leave is being covered by Dr Helen Dace (Mondays, Tuesday and Thursdays.) Dr Anke Lehmkuhl has joined as an Associate GP taking over Dr Thjirza Deboo’s patients. And Dr Dr Maddox is working as a locum over the summer to support the GP team.
