How many people know that in April next year Marlborough’s library will have been open at the west end of the High Street for 50 years?
Although the doors of the old school building actually opened on 18 December 1964, the official opening was not until April 1965. And so, quite rightly, in April 2015 the staff will be recognising the event and would like to include your memories in their celebrations.
Do you, for instance, have memories of the old library at 1 The Green?
Please contact us here at Marlborough News Online (info@marlboroughnewsonline.co.uk – with LIBRARY in the subject field) or talk directly to the Library staff about the people, the building, the services, the differences between then and now.
And if anyone has a library book that has been guiltily overdue since 1965, we will try and arrange a moratorium on a prohibitively large fine.
