Local Marlborough resident, 16-year-old Vivian Novis, who swims with the Electric Eels Down Syndrome Club in Windsor, won gold at the Fourth Annual European Down Syndrome Swim Championships. She has been at the Paris championships with her fellow Team GB Synchro members.
The duet team – comprising Vivian and her partner Molly Khan – won gold, while soloists from the club won silver & bronze medals.
This achievement further cements the team’s place on the world stage, following the duet’s silver medal debut at the World Down Syndrome Games in Florence in the summer of 2016.
The team’s new goal is to raise enough funds to attend the next World Championships – to be held in Canada in the summer of 2018.
