Eleven new volunteers have completed the Home-Start Kennet (HSK) preparation course and ready to be carefully matched with local families who have requested HSK’s unique home visiting support service.
HSK now has 40 volunteers visiting families in the Devizes, Pewsey, Tidworth and Marlborough areas.
For 26 years HSK volunteers have been helping families struggling with such challenges as rural isolation, illness and multiple births.
As with all HSK’s volunteers, the latest group bring a wide range of experience, skills and knowledge – from nursing, Ofsted, the military and banking.
The next preparation course starts on January 24. Further information on HSK’s website or 01672 569457.
HSK is partly supported by the BIG Lottery Reaching Communities fund, and also by other grant making bodies and by the local community.
