The owners of Godots have since taken the restaurant off the market and are continuing to trade. They have owned and run the restaurant for twelve years.
One of Marlborough’s remaining independent restaurants is up for sale. Godots bar-brasseries at the bottom of Kingsbury Street is being offered at the guide price of £895,000.
Apart from the restaurant and bar premises, on the two upper floors there is a three bedroom-two bathroom home amidst the ancient beams.
The restaurant area seats about 30 – with space for 40 more in the open courtyard garden.
At the back of the Grade II listed building stands a former dairy barn with open beam work and a cobbled floor. It is believed to date from the seventeenth century.
This barn is currently used for storage, but the estate agent handing the sale believes it could be used as an intimate wedding venue, as a party barn or converted for residential use.
The sale is in the hands of Smiths Gore Marlborough: 01672 595007.
