The new MP for the Devizes Constituency, Danny Kruger, has made his maiden speech in the House of Commons (January 29).
He was speaking during a debate on policing and crime. After outlining some of his predecessor’s achievements, he spoke about the need for ‘social infrastructure’ to be considered as seriously as ‘economic infrastructure’.
He mentioned the work of the charity he and his wife founded – which works in prisons with young people at risk. He also spoke about the ‘issue of identity’.
As the rules of the House demand for maiden speeches, he was heard without any interruptions. His full speech can be read here.
