ARK’s Wednesday afternoon volunteers have taken on a new task.
Once a month they are travelling to Kintbury to carry out practical river restoration on a small side stream of the River Kennet at Barton Holt. Already improvement can be seen after the removal of some of the trees lining the banks to let in more light. Volunteers will also be planting Water Crowfoot, an important acquatic plant that helps to improve the chalkstream habitat for wildlife.
