After a longer than expected lay-off due to a bug that hit Alan King’s Barbury training stables, his horses are back racing. Though the tests did not show all the horses are back to full health.
He sent a Secret Edge to race at Huntingdon today (Friday, January 24) – the yard’s first runner since New Year’s Day. And tomorrow he is sending four horses for the yard’s first Saturday racing of 2014.
Kumbeshwar and Ronaldinho are expected to race at Cheltenham. And Valdez and Jetnova will make the longer trip to Doncaster.
However, Alan King warns: “You never know until a horse actually races, but we have done extensive tests and we are as sure as we can be that the quartet who leave the yard on Saturday are over the problem.”
