The continuing problem of HGVs – including articulated trucks – turning from the High Street in Kingsbury nearly took a much more serious turn on Tuesday afternoon (November 17.)
The lady involved in the incident gave this account of her frightening near-miss to Marlborough News Online:
“At 2:50 this afternoon, as I was waiting in front of Helen & Douglas to cross Kingsbury Street towards Henry George, a huge lorry came up from the High Street at a high speed, headed up Kingsbury Street, and climbed the pavement where I was standing.”
“I managed to jump back, but was very frightened, and I think anyone heading down down Kingsbury Street would have been in trouble. I took down the licence number: HFZ5261.”
It is thought to be a Finnish-owned truck. Should, by any chance, this vehicle appear in town again, would readers please let Marlborough News Online know if they spot it and if possible take a photo of it.
