Marlborough’s retailers are already getting behind the town’s entry for the Royal Horticultural Society’s ‘Britain in Bloom’ competition.
Judging doesn’t take place for more than a month but displays and colour schemes in many shops are being planned so that the town will be ablaze with a themed display (see ‘Traders with a zest for victory urged to plant citrus flowers this year‘) of floral ebullience.
Here we see Cheryl, Manager of ‘Top Bags’ choosing merchandise of an appropriate shade to complement the display prepared by the shop, and young model Matilda giving a turn in a Monsoon number with hint of the ‘Citrus’ theme of this year’s entry.
Even the Post Office is getting involved and Postman John Cox is shown here delivering a large parcel of ‘props’ for Marlborough’s retailers to use in thir displays.
