Sirs,
I should imagine that many Marlborough inhabitants like me, who use hearing aids, were very disappointed when Savernake Hospital last autumn suddenly stopped offering a battery exchange facility.
I am delighted to report, therefore, that batteries will be available once again from Monday 10th January.
They can be collected from the Savernake Hospital Shop between 10am and 1pm from Monday to Friday. To collect them, patients should bring along their NHS Battery Record Card, as batteries cannot be issued without one. There is also a collection box at the Shop to recycle spent batteries.
This service is now being provided by the Volunteers at the shop – not the Savernake Hospital Staff, and a big “Thank You” is due to Janet Louth and Ian Philpott, who have pursued this and organised the new arrangements – as well as to the Volunteers who have taken on the role of dispensing.
Yours,
John Price
