The Highways spend a lot of our Council tax on filling pot holes. In most instances the hole is filled with asphalt and rolled or tamped into place with a heavy weight.
The modern way appears not to use the sealant! IT SAVES MONEY???
Does it?
Result: water and frost gets under the repair and lifts the asphalt out of the pot hole. No money saved? The hole either gets bigger or the same procedure is repeated creating a perfect hole for car wheels and cyclists to hit!
In school I was taught that water expands when it freezes. So a SEALANT is essential.
The picture is of a newly repaired pothole done over the summer months is this good enough?? It is in the Marlborough East Ward.
