Your report dated 12th August on Marlbrough’s traffic is thorough, and clarifies that one of the single biggest issues is high numbers of large lorries on the north-south A346.
There is also an on-going problem persuading utility companies that they operate in a world full of other people. None of us wishes to accelerate traffic flow by reducing internet access speeds or sewage disposal either come to that, but our Councillors must keep prodding the right departments to ensure things improve.
Most of all, I hope that the HGV north-south traffic doesn’t provide an excuse to restrict parking in the town, or cars wishing to visit Marlborough. Your report correctly points out that the main problems are not caused by those who enjoy coming to town and spending money there.
Yours,
