Sirs,
The group which I attend is most grateful for the use of the scout hut in George Lane and we are more than happy to pay the booking fee. However we cannot understand why the central heating is always on. Whatever the external temperature the radiators are almost too hot to touch Although the room thermostat can be turned below its usual setting, the next week finds the room set to 23 degrees yet again. Given the cost of fuel this seems an unnecessary extravagance.
For several years we have alerted various members of the Committee to this waste, but nothing changes. If this letter is published, it may persuade some careful Committee member to look for a better way to spend scout funds.
Yours,
Gillian Clarkson
