Sue Brady Catering, which was founded over 25 years ago and has been based in Marlborough for at least fifteen years, has changed ownership. Sue Brady is retiring in November and the business has been taken over by Kymee Cleasby. To ensure a smooth transition Sue will continue to work with Kymee until November and as a consultant thereafter.
Kymee Cleasby, who has recently become a Marlborough Town Councillor and who has a background in catering and hospitality, told Marlborough.news, “We are not a faceless corporation and will continue to provide an important service for the community. I believe in community.”
Sue Brady Catering provides 19 schools and nurseries with school dinners and will also cater for any corporate or private function from private dinner parties with fine dining to wedding parties with over 200 guests. They provided the VIP tent and staff catering for Countryfile Live at Blenheim the last twice it was held there.
Kymee commented, “We have amazing chefs in our kitchen and a team of 15 really experienced people. We make everything here so we know exactly what goes into everything. We balance everything nutritionally and cater for special diets. All our meat comes from Sumblers and fresh fruit and veg from Heritage. The hot roast dinners and pasta pots are favourites with the children eating our school dinners.”
The pandemic and lockdowns have been tough but the company is now starting to provide corporate lunches, memorial lunches for those who had been unable to hold funerals and catering for small weddings.
Kymee moved to Marlborough from Oxfordshire in 2019 and during the pandemic set up the Love Marlborough Kid’s Meals project to provide hot meals for families in need. Sue Brady offered the use of her cooking facilities and hence the partnership began. Kymee said, “I’m still running Love Marlborough Kid’s Meals as there is still a need. We are helping families to transition off the programme by teaching them to batch cook and how to feed kids healthily but on a budget. Lots of the community are joining in and helping which is wonderful.”
