Job Title: Cardinal Coffee Shop Supervisor
Reports to: Company Directors
Salary: £11- £15ph depending on experience
We have a fantastic opportunity for a full time supervisor or two part time supervisors to work within our coffee shop in beautiful, unique surroundings in the heart of Marlborough.
- One Full Time or Two part time – Permanent
- Hourly wage based on experience.
- 9.30am – 4.30pm, 5 days per week, alternating Saturdays with the manager
Purpose:
The supervisor is to help the manager to establish a presence on the high street for our coffee shop, a subsidiary of St Peter’s charitable trust. The candidate will nurture a loyal customer base by providing great coffee, food, and customer experience. The candidate is required to maintain agreed profit margins and annual revenue targets to the benefit and support the trust’s fundraising activities.
St Peter’s Marlborough is a former church turned community hub for history and the arts. We offer unique events and activities in a landmark building with impressive historic features.

As Coffee Shop Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in training, supervising, and appraising coffee shop staff
- Assisting the manager to monitor budgets to ensure the coffee shop remains profitable.
- Maintaining inventory
- Preparation of coffee shop to serve customers, including food items, ensuring all food hygiene and storage practises are followed.
- Ensuring that food hygiene and storage practices are followed.
- Helping manage aspects of staff training, including health and safety guidelines.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coffee shop directors, visitors, and suppliers.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven excellent organisational, time management, communication, and customer service skills.
- Experience working in various roles within a coffee shop and the food or hospitality industry. Baristas and assistants looking for progression welcome.
- Basic IT skills, including an understanding of social media platforms Instagram and Facebook
- Financially astute
- An understanding of regulations concerning food health and safety
Working Hours:
- The coffee shop is open six days per week, Monday – Saturday, 10:00am – 4:00pm
- The core hours for the full-time supervisor will be 9:30am – 4:30pm, five days a week, often including a Saturday which will be alternated with the manager.
- Part-time supervisor role three days per week 9:30am -4:30pm to be arranged on a monthly rota.
