Marlborough LitFest runs an annual competition with all the local primary schools. This year 16 local schools have been invited to take part, with a deadline of 15 July. Six prizes of £25 book tokens each will be given to the winning entries courtesy of sponsor Haine & Smith, the opticians in Marlborough. Prizes will be given out during the LitFest weekend.

LITFEST COMPETITION INFO: THE DAY THE QUEEN CAME TO STAY

Create a story using words and / or pictures, about the day the Queen came to stay… The Queen has to get out of Buckingham Palace and is going to come and stay with you for the weekend. What would you do, where would you take her, what would you show her – bearing in mind she doesn’t ever get to be ‘normal’? You can take her on an adventure or just take her shopping – as real or as make believe as you like! Write a story or poem with pictures or just draw a picture to tell your story.
