Landlocked Pewsey will resound to the singing of sea shanties tomorrow night (Tuesday).
Although the nearest thing the village has to seafaring heritage is the Kennet and Avon Canal, The Pewsey Pilchards will present a Sea Shantiers’ Session at The Crown, in aid of Pewsey Carnival.
The yo-ho-ho-ing kicks off at 8.30pm on with a pirate fancy dress theme, and prizes for the best outfits.
Carnival fun continues all week, with a host of events, including the Wheelbarrow Race on Thursday and Wiltshire’s oldest and largest illuminated carnival on Saturday night.
