Perhaps you’ve changed the summer duvet for the winter one, or been pulling cosy sweaters you didn’t think you’d see until October out of your wardrobe. You’re not alone – we’ve just had our coldest August morning for 21 years.
According to Marlborough weatherman Eric Gilbert, temperatures dropped to an autumnal 3.8 degrees celsius just before dawn this morning. That’s the second coldest August morning since he began recording from his Windrush weather station in 1984.
The record was set on August 28, 1993 when temperatures dropped to 2.7 degrees celsius.
