The Merchant’s House Zoom lecture 2 – The creed of progress and its critics
4 March 2021 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am
Speaker – Michael Hart
This is the second of six lectures in The Merchant’s House 2021 Study Series focussing on the 19th Century. Three well-known lecturers, Michael Hart, Christopher Rogers and David Evans will each give two lectures. You only need one ticket for each pair of lectures by the same lecturer.
Please visit this ticketing page to buy a ticket for both lectures by Michael Hart. You do not need separate tickets for this lecture and Michael Hart’s first lecture on Thursday 25th February.
Both of Michael Hart’s lectures sketch the background to the dynamic but contradictory 19th Century in England – a country engaged in reconciling its conservative character with the challenges of modernity.
Your ticket (bought from this page) includes both of the following:
Thursday 25th February at 10:00am: The 19th Century – “If you want things to stay as they are, things will have to change”. A lecture lasting about one hour followed by a live Q&A session.
Thursday 4th March at 10:00am: The creed of progress and its critics. A lecture lasting about 45 minutes followed by a live Q&A session.
Tickets £12 (£9 for Friends of The Merchant’s House)
