It’s always a pleasure to host the inimitable Mr. Nick Harper, who returns to his local on Sunday 29th September to celebrate the release of his new, 14th studio album ‘Earth Day Blue’ with an instore performance and signing from 4pm.

Recorded in Abbey Road Studio 2 on Earth Day 2024, the album pairs Nick with legendary producer John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead, Muse), though not for the first time in that space. It was way back in 1973, in the very same room, that 8-year-old Nick was given his ‘big break’ in the world of music, recording his first songs with John whilst Nick’s father Roy was recording his own seminal album ‘Lifemask’ with Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin.

Written with a Studio 2 Beatlesque approach of short, immediate songs, but with the added brio of a group of studio attendees sometimes driven to sing along to Nick’s guitar and voice, adding a party atmosphere to the day, the album captures the magic of an electrifying Nick live performance and was mixed by frequent collaborator Tchad Blake (Peter Gabriel, Tom Waits, Crowded House).
